Growing Dreams [Day 86]

AZANA GAZED AROUND herself in amazement. Tiny flower buds peeked up through the sandy black soil. Their delicate cream-orange or misty-gray colors seemed undone, as if they were still in need of more care.

Like seeds…or children.

Watching with interest, Azana saw her host pick a few of the plumper buds and add them to his basket.

“You have to make sure they are just right before mixing them into dreams,” he told her, holding a pretty amber-orange one between his thumb and forefinger.
