Fearless Girls, Wise Women, & Beloved Sisters
This story was impressive but heartfelt. I loved how action-oriented the main character Tokoyo was and how she saved her father and the Oki Islands through her resoluteness. A good heroic girl piece. Highly recommend it.
It features as a story in Fearless Girls, Wise Women, & Beloved Sisters by Kathleen Ragan. I highly recommend the collection in general, with great stories, as the title implies, about a range of women and female protagonists (as some aren’t human; I recall one was a phoenix).
*unsure of ATU tale type, but may be categorically void since the ATU classification works primarily on European tales.
