The Hummingbird’s Breakfast [Day 171]

SUNSHINE DRIFTED THROUGH the trees. Petite ivory buds, blushing pink in the sun’s unobtrusive gaze, glowed bright as opals. Delicate silver-green grass cast crisscrossed patterns of light, as the early sun pranced through the supple glass blades. A ruby-throated hummingbird, her breast a glittering gem, darted around the white opals, sipping clear nectar up her beak.
